NEW YORK, NY - The Daily Redundancy has obtained an exclusive interview with Alex Rodriguez' gynecologist, Dr. Marcy Sanlandono, and learned some surprising things about the Yankee third baseman, and male gynecology in general
We caught up with Dr. Sanlandono between appointments at her Manhattan office:
ME: Good afternoon, Dr. Sanlandono.
DR: Good afternoon. What seems to be the problem?
ME: Oh, no, I'm not a patient. I'm with The Daily Redundancy - we have an interview.
DR: Sorry.
ME: So, let me just ask - why would A-Rod see a gynecologist?
DR: Well, he's a human being who has symptoms I specialize in. That's not strange at all, now is it?
ME: No ma'am. Did he transfer to you from another doctor in Texas?
DR: No, I started seeing him after his first season here.
ME: Of course. Why did he skip the home run derby, was it for medical reasons?
DR: Just a mild infection - we're clearing that up.
ME: I see. Is that causing his recent slump as well?
DR: Actually we're trying to take it a little easy during this part of the year. We're hoping to avoid those really bad cramps he usually gets during the post-season.
ME: Good plan. So, do you see any other high profile athletes?
DR: I used to see Peyton Manning, but his symptoms finally dissipated last year.
ME: Well done. That should earn you some notoriety.
DR: Well, I hate to brag, but I'm the real reason Kobe Bryant wants to come to New York.
ME: Indeed.
