| Manning Defiles Another Colts Record |
SAN DIEGO, CA - The San Diego Chargers held off a late rally by the Indianapolis Colts and came away with a 23-21 victory in front of a home crowd of 53,755 on Sunday night. Despite the losing effort, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning
broke yet another of Johnny Unitas' passing records by tossing six flawless interceptions. The final pick came with just 9 seconds left in the game.
"I wasn't even thinking about it [breaking the record]." said Manning in his post-game interview. "But its an honor to be in the company of a player like Unitas."
Colt's placekicker Adam Vinatieri selflessly missed a 29 yard field goal with 1:34 left to make an attempt at the record possible. "I'll never say anything bad about a kicker again." said Manning. "except maybe that idiot Vander-whats-his-name."
Manning now sets his sights on Unitas' career yardage mark, which he should eclipse at home against Kansas City next Sunday. "I don't pay any attention to that, but I believe I've already broken that record." said Manning. "Check your stats."
